How to create a Task

Learn how to create Tasks and track them from within their connected workflows from creation to completion.

Now moving on to creating your first Task using the guide to discover the power of SwiftCase and what it can do for your business.

Creating a new Task in SwiftCase

  • To create a new task, navigate to the sidebar and you will find Sidebar->Tasks. This will take you to the Dashboard.
  • Please click the 'Create New Task' button on the top right of the page. This will take you to a New Task page.
  • From the drop-down menu, select ‘Create New Tasks’, this will take you to a New Task page.
  • Please select a Client from the ‘Select Client’ drop-down box and then select Client Staff from the ‘Select Client Staff’ drop-down box; you can add more than one Client Staff associated with the Client you have selected.

  • Then, select ‘Create Task’.
  • You will be redirected to a new page titled New Task for (Client Staff). Next, select a Task from the ‘Select Task’ drop-down box.
  • Boxes will appear below, subject to which Task was selected. Proceed to fill in the required fields.

  • Click the ‘Save’ button on the bottom right of the page. This will lead you to a page stating, ‘Your Task(s) have been created successfully’.
  • You may click the ‘View Task’ button located at the bottom right of the page to view your new Task!

The Support Ticket Task

This example will take you through how to create a support ticket task, to give a greater understanding of how to create tasks on SwiftCase!

  • First, navigate to the sidebar and you will find Sidebar->Tasks. This will take you to the Dashboard.
  • Please click the 'Create New Task' button on the top right of the page. This will take you to a New Task page.
  • From the 'Select Task' drop-down menu, select the 'Support Ticket' task. Then please click the 'Add Task' button.

  • This should take you to a new page where you can fill out the required fields.
Task Details
  • Now you can fill out the:

    • Summary: In here you can provide a summary of the issue i.e. Suspended User

    • Details: In here you can provide a more detailed explanation of the issue i.e. A User forgot their password and had too many failed login attempts. They are now suspended, how do I unsuspend them?

    • Category: From the drop-down options, you can choose a category under which the issue falls i.e 'User Accounts'.

    • Support Ticket Enquiry Type: From the drop-down options, you can choose the enquiry type. Whether that be a Question or a potential Bug i.e. in this case it would be a Question.

  • After you have filled out the necessary fields, please click the 'Save' button.

  • This will take you to a page confirming 'Your task(s) have been created successfully!'. From here, you can click the 'View Task' button to view your support ticket!
